Helpdesk Reference Management – Individual Appointments Now Available
Starting immediately, you can flexibly book appointments with the Helpdesk Reference Management using our appointment booking tool. This means that the regular online office hours have been discontinued. Using the tool, you can select a fitting time slot and receive personalized support for questions regarding Citavi, EndNote, and Zotero.
We look forward to providing you with even more targeted support in the future.

The University Library on RWTH’s Status Message Portal
The Status Message Portal provides centralized information about scheduled maintenance and current disruptions to IT services at RWTH. Users can check there at any time to see if a service is temporarily limited or unavailable. The University Library is expanding its presence on the Status Message Portal: In addition to the library system and the Research Data Management Organizer (RDMO), RWTH Publications repository is now also represented there. For RWTH Publications, for example, regular monthly maintenance windows are announced. This ensures that planned outages are transparent and easy to track, and that up-to-date information is available at any time in one central location. Innovation Roadshow 2026: Sign-Up Now
Under the motto “Deine Idee. Dein Schutz. Dein Business.” you’ll learn everything you need to know about patents, trademarks, and designs. In collaboration with the German Patent and Trademark Office, the Association of Intellectual Property Professionals (VPP), the Aachen Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK Aachen), and the Patent and Standards Center, you’ll gain insights into intellectual property protection. A special highlight will be testimonials from local companies ModuleWorks GmbH, Membion GmbH, and Regascold GmbH. The program is complemented by opportunities to exchange ideas with experts as well as valuable insights into the protection and commercialization of innovations. The Innovation Roadshow will take place in Aachen on September 10, 2026. Participation is free of charge. The event will be held in German. From Trainee to Colleague
We congratulate all graduates on completing their training at RWTH. After the training program at the University Library was on hiatus for many years, we are very pleased to be able to congratulate Julija Veljkovic on her degree this year. Since mid-July, she has been working as a specialist in media and information services at the Medical Library, thus remaining part of our team. Training young professionals is an important investment in the future for us. We look forward to continuing to support dedicated trainees on their journey!

Summer Day 2026 Recap
On July 31, the “Summer Day – Academic Writing” event took place in Library 2. From 2 to 8pm, the Writing Center, the University Library, and other experts provided students with advice and tips on academic writing. In short keynote presentations, participants explored key aspects of academic work: At 2.30pm, Cornelia Czapla from the Writing Center explained the structure of academic papers, followed by Christoph Leuchter with a presentation on referencing and citation at 3.30pm. At 4.30pm, Christian Segerer discussed revising academic texts, and at 5.30pm typical sources of errors were addressed in a session titled “Common Mistakes.” A workshop on eye healthiness also provided a welcome break for the eyes. The AStA provided free drinks, and the University Library offered snacks. It was an all-around successful day that once again demonstrated how enriching exchange and collaborative learning can be. We’re already looking forward to Summer Day 2027! |
