The young RWTH Aachen University Foundation aims to secure cutting-edge research, innovation, teaching, and academic life at RWTH Aachen University for the future
RWTH Aachen University has achieved a great deal in its 150-year history. In order to meet the challenges of the future, our University relies on excellent education and research. The University's own foundation was established to provide long-term and sustainable support.
As a non-profit organization, the RWTH Aachen University Foundation exclusively pursues the goals of RWTH, and it focuses on key topics that are relevant to the future viability of our society. As a perpetual foundation, it offers sponsors the opportunity to get involved and support research and teaching projects in a sustainable way that will have an impact for generations to come. These are projects that would not be possible without this private funding.
Professor Carl-Dieter Wuppermann and his wife Gabriele have decided to support the education of young talent at RWTH in the long term by donating to the foundation.
“The foundation not only offers us the opportunity to promote the development of the University, but also to actively participate in exciting projects. It's a great feeling to know that we can make a difference together,” says Professor Wuppermann, an alumnus of RWTH Aachen University and who, together with his wife Gabriele Wuppermann, was one of the foundation's very first supporters. “We decided to do this because we want to give something back to RWTH in return for the excellent education that has helped me greatly in my personal and professional development.”
Goals of the University Foundation
The RWTH Aachen University Foundation pursues several key objectives. It focuses on the funding areas “Research and Knowledge”, “Students and Campus Life”, “Teaching and Learning”, and “Sustainability and Responsibility.” Through the targeted use of funds, the foundation is intended to contribute to the pursuit of innovative ideas and strategic topics that benefit both the University and society in general.

“We are deeply grateful for the support of our alumni, whose commitment not only strengthens our foundation, but which also makes a significant contribution to the further development of our University. Their constant support and loyalty are an inspiration to us all and they demonstrate how important it is for us to work together for a successful future.”
